Quark XPress However, when a Quark page is saved, users are given the option to "Include Preview." ![]() Checking this box will embed a small PICT preview, which iView will use as a Thumbnail. This preview also is all iView can read for Media View. These previews often look something like this: ![]() To improve the quality of thumbnails and what can be seen in Media view, iView provides all users with a Quark XTension. It can be found in a folder called "iViewXT" that is included with your download. Take this file and move it into your Quark XTensions folder. Once you have this installed, all Quark files that you save will have thumbnails that look this: ![]() As well, you will be able to see a complete rendering of the file in Media view. To turn this XTension off, remove it from the Quark XTensions folder. For additional information on this Quark XTension, please review the "About iViewXT" file that is included with the download. Also included in this folder is the "iViewXT Batch Express Tool" which will let you automatically add full color thumbnails to all your Quark files at once. To use it, you must install the iViewXT into your Quark folder. Then drag-and-drop your Quark files onto this AppleScript applet. It will open and resave all the files in Quark for you. iView's "Rebuild Thumbnail" command will not improve the quality of Quark thumbnails.
