By default, iView makes Bitmap PICT thumbnails at 128x128 pixels of the first page of InDesign documents. This is an example of an InDesign thumbnail of the iView user manual:

iView renders only the thumbnail Media view. iView’s Rebuild Thumbnail command will not improve the quality of InDesign thumbnails.
