iView Media Q&A » Troubleshooting

What does the 'Volume not mounted' message mean?

iView Media needs access to the actual file in order to display it on the screen in Media View or the Slide show. This error is displayed when iView Media cannot find the media storage device or disk on which the file is stored. Mounting the disk should solve the problem.

Why can't I import media files that I know Media supports?

The most common cause of media not importing in iView Media is an incorrect setting made in the Import Options. You can check these by going to Edit -> Import Options ... The 'Filters' tab filters media as it is imported. By default all of these options are not selected, one of the criteria here could be the reason media is not importing, so try with every option deselected. The second tab could also block media from importing. Check in the 'Media Types' tab that the general type of file you are trying to import is selected. You can check which type a particular format comes under from 'Media Importers ...' - on the iView Media menu on a Mac or 'about Media Importers' on the Help menu on a Windows PC to see if the media format is supported. If in doubt select them all.

What does the 'No importer found' error message mean?

This message appears when iView Media cannot display or render a particular file. try upgrading to the latest version of Quicktime and check in 'Media Importers ...' - on the iView Media menu on a Mac or 'about Media Importers' on the Help menu on a Windows PC to see if the media format is supported. iView Media catalogs images, movies and sound files. iView MediaPro supports more media formats than iView Media.

I get the error message ‘A required .DLL file, OLEACC.DLL was not found’ when I start iView Media on Windows 98.

You may or removed or never installed a part of the Windows 98 operating System. Make sure you have your Windows 98 CD Rom to hand. Go to Start -> Setting -> Control Panels -> Add/Remove Programs. Choose the ‘Windows Setup’ tab and make sure ‘Accessibility’ is installed.
