Updating the contextual menu or spotlight plug-in (Intel Mac)
Both the Contextual menu and spotlight plug-ins are installed when iView MediaPro is installed. These plug-ins have been updetad to work with Intel Macs. The current installer cannot remove existing plug-ins as they may bein use by the Operating System.
If you have an Intel Mac you will need to manually remove these plug-ins before installing to update these plug-ins.
The plug-ins are located in -
/library/Contextual Menu items/
/Library/Spotlight/
If you are reinstalling the current version of MediaPro you may need to delete the installation receipt.
How can I manage 2 or more volume licenses?
This is a common question, an administrator of multiple computers using iView MediaPro does not want to have to keep track of which computers use which licenses. If you have multiple computers with iView MediaPro 3 installed then a single multi-user license is much easier to keep track of than individual licenses. But what happens when the owner of multi-seat license wants to add more seats?
iView MediaPro 3 allows you to enter multiple licenses for each installation.
Here is an example of how this works. A company buys a 20 seat license for 20 computers using iView MediaPro 3. Each installation of iView MediaPro 3 uses the same license number. The company then purchases a further 10 computers and a 10 seat iView MediaPro 3 license. The administrator can enter both licenses for all 30 computers using 'Manage Licenses ...' in the Preferences. So all 30 computers will now show the 20 and 10 seat licenses in the 'License Manager'. iView MediaPro 3 will automatically allow all 30 computers to use MediaPro. In effect the 2 license combine to make one 30 user license.
Why does the installer say there is nothing to install? (Mac)
Your Mac keeps receipts about what it has installed and uses those to try and work out if an upgrade is needed. Look in the /Library/Receipts folder and delete any that mention iView. Then try again.
How do I install the Macintosh download?
If you are updating MediaPro please quit any existing version before going any further. When you download iView Mediapro 3 for Mac from the iView website the file 'ivmp.dmg' is copied to your computer. Once this has downloaded the MediaPro installer should automatically start. Follow the installer options and once the install has completed you can remove the 'iView MediaPro 3 Installer' temporary volume and trash the ivmp.dmg file that was downloaded.
If the installer did not automatically start and you cannot see the temporary 'iView MediaPro 3 Installer' volume, double click the ivmp.dmg file. You may need to open the 'iView MediaPro 3 Installer' volume and double click the 'Install MediaPro 3' icon.
