PSD Alpha channel incorrectly displayed (typically yellow)
Photoshop documents with Alpha channels can be incorrectly displayed. The Alpha channel can be intrepreted as a transparent layer, MediaPro has a preference as to which color to use to display transparency and by default this is yellow. Below is an example of how this can appear.
To change this you need to edit the settings.txt file and turn alpha detect off. i.e change the line 'alfa_detect 1' to 'alfa_detect 0'.
settings.txt is in the following location -
(Mac) iView MediaPro application package contents -> shared support -> plug-ins -> general
(Win) Program files -> iView -> plug-ins -> general
After restarting the application the image should then be displayed correctly.
Why don't thumbnails enlarge when I choose a larger thumbnail size?
The size setting in the thumbnail view is the size that newly imported images will fit.
To make existing thumbnails fit the new size, select the images and choose 'Rebuild Item' from the 'Action' menu.
Please note - with some image formats it is not possible to create thumbnails to fill the larger thumbnail sizes due to limitations of that format.
Can I display a different thumbnail for a Movie?
The default thumbnail generated for a movie is often not very helpful. It can be blank or have a generic copyright message that does not help identify the cataloged movie. If you select the movie and press space, the movie will begin to play. Press space again when you get to the point in the movie that you would like to appear as the thumbnail. Choose Action -> Rebuild thumbnail and this image will replace the current thumbnail.
