How can I speed up working with Kodak DCS files?

Kodak Raw DCS camera files contain a preview image that will display quicker than the full Raw image. This is useful for cataloging/annotating purposes and in some cases will be high enough quality for contact sheets or web galleries.

To use the preview instead of the Raw image turn on the 'use embedded preview' option. This option is Preferences -> Media -> Camera Formats.
