How does MediaPro support Nefs?
MediaPro uses libraries installed with NikonView or Picture Project to display raw Nef images. Both applications are free for Nikon camera owners from their website.
You do not need to use either application, it just needs to be installed.
Please make sure you have a version of NikonView or Picture Project that is compatible with your Operating system and your model of camera. We recommend using the latest version available.
How can I speed up working with Raw NEF images?
Nikon Raw NEF files contain a preview image that will display quicker than the full Raw image. This is useful for cataloging/annotating purposes and in some cases will be high enough quality for contact sheets or web galleries.
To use the preview instead of the Raw image turn on the 'use embedded preview' option. This option is Preferences -> Media -> Camera Formats.
Some Nikon cameras embed a small preview image. For these models you should consider using the NPrevCreator application that comes with NikonView. You can use this to increase the size of the embedded preview which gives an excellent balance of speed and quality.
