Why is Contact sheet printing so slow?

If you print with 'Hi Rez' on, the original image is included in the print job and scaled to the appropriate size. Without 'Hi Rez' iView uses the thumbnail contained in the catalog. So the best way to print a good quality contact sheet is to make sure the thumbnails in the catalog are as high quality as possible. Try this trick -

If you increase the thumbnail size in the catalog to custom and 320 pixels (using the size pull down in the bottom left of the thumbnail view) then let the catalog rebuild the thumbnails, you have nice high quality thumbnails. Then drop the thumbnail size back down to how you prefer to view them BUT don't rebuild the thumbnails. So they will look the same but the catalog contains a better image. Now if you print the contact sheet (with 'Hi Rez off') it should be much better quality and it prints quickly.

General Printing Issues

Several printing related issues have been addressed with iView upgrades. These issues are typically related to problems between CarbonLib and printer drivers. To correct. Make sure that you have:

• CarbonLib 1.4 or newer
• The latest driver by the printer manufacturer.
• iView MediaPro 1.5 or newer.
