MediaPro manages a variety of file types including photos, graphics, MP3s, audio, video, and fonts. The application supports more than 130 file formats, including Adobe’s DNG and the most common digital camera RAW file formats. MediaPro also has a “Helper Application” functionality that enables the user to open a media file with a third party application directly within MediaPro, thereby cutting extra steps out of the workflow. In addition to this direct integration, MediaPro is eminently scriptable enabling users with programming knowledge to create individual scripts. There are also many Apple and VisualBasic scripts available via the iView website which automate MediaPro’s functions as well as the interaction with other fundamental programs used by the creative community; such as Adobe’s Photoshop and InDesign, QuarkXPress and Phase One’s color correction and RAW conversion software, Capture One PRO.
MediaPro offers users an easy and flexible file management system. Files can be imported and exported into and out of catalogs in a number of ways, including “drag-and-drop”. It supports the import, export and editing of metadata, which features information about the context quality and characteristics of the files. MediaPro empowers users to be more creative by automating mundane and time-consuming but necessary tasks, such as batch renaming, conversion and the auto-importing of media files via folder watching.
