iView Multimedia (iView) is a developer and publisher of award-winning digital asset management software.
iView Multimedia currently publishes three products: iView MediaPro (MediaPro), iView Media (Media) and iView Catalog Reader (Catalog Reader). MediaPro is the award-winning, cross-platform digital asset management software that empowers creative professionals such as digital photographers to quickly and easily import, edit, present, publish and catalog a wide variety of digital files, while allowing them to retain or define their own workflow. Media is a consumer-oriented version of MediaPro that includes many of the MediaPro features at a lower cost. Catalog Reader enables Media and MediaPro users to share and distribute iView catalogs with non-iView users and is available as a free download from iView’s Web site.
Yan Calotychos devised the program that would become MediaPro in 1996 to manage the thousands of digital media files he used producing educational multimedia CD-ROM titles at EuroTalk Ltd, a CD-ROM publishing house in London. The software became indispensable in his work, allowing him greater efficiency and productivity.
Believing the software might be useful to others working with digital assets, he decided to offer the product as shareware on the Internet. Word rapidly spread, and the software gained a reputation for speed, functionality and ease of use.
Such was the popularity of the product that Yan and his wife, Victoria, quit their day jobs and established iView Multimedia as a registered company in 1999. They continued with product development and began to address the thousands of requests flooding in from the rapidly growing user base.
iView quickly grew from a husband and wife team to a multi-tiered company comprising product development, customer support, and sales and marketing divisions. iView product development remains at the forefront of emerging trends in digital asset management. Today, iView products are developed by a team of expert enthusiasts based at the company’s headquarters in London, UK. iView currently has distributors and/or resellers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia and Japan.
iView has a history of listening and responding to the needs of its customers. Their feedback sourced from iView’s beta testing, online forums and market surveys plays a key role in influencing product development.

Yan Calotychos founder, CEO and CTO of iView has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc in Computer Aided Design, and a PhD in IT & Computer Integrated Design & Manufacturing. Before founding iView, he was the lead software engineer at BBC Interactive Digital TV in London. Yan was also the principal programmer and technology advisor at EuroTalk Ltd, a CD-ROM publishing house in London.
