iView MediaPro has advanced file and folder management to enhance your
workflow and provide direct control over your file system.
The Catalog Folders panel allows you to manage your files and
folders associated with media in a catalog. It automatically updates references
to the original media and displays folders in hierarchies,
allowing you to quickly check the contents of folders within the application
and synchronization status between catalog items and original files. In
addition, you can carry out operations, such as opening, moving or revealing
files or folders in the Finder; renaming and batch renaming files; reset
or updating paths; creating or renaming folders; and deleting items either
from the catalog or trashing the original file - all within the application.

Folder watching
In MediaPro, catalog-wide folder watching can be enabled to constantly
monitor folders which contain media within your catalog.
When new media items are added to any of these folders, MediaPro alerts
you to the new content (shown by a blue arrow on the folder icon).
You can then choose to import these new files directly to your catalog
from your stored media location.
In addition, the
user can set the frequency of folder watching and the feature
set also provides a range of visual rather
than dialog alerts to indicate changes to the underlying media.
This less intrusive method allows the user to focus on workflow,
monitoring for changes as and when this information is needed.

Auto-importing
Auto-importing takes folder watching to the next level
by automatically importing media from selected folders
when new files are added.
Simply select the folder(s) which are to be constantly
monitored and once new media is added to that folder
it will automatically be imported to your catalog. Auto-importing folders
are designated green.

Direct file and folder manipulation
Perform system file operations directly from the catalog:
- Rename and batch rename files
- Remove files and folders from the catalog
- Remove files and folders from the hard disk (moves items to the Recycle Bin/Trash)
- Reveal files and folders on the desktop
- Create and rename folders
Move files directly around the desktop from within the catalog. The files will be physically moved to the folder selected.
