iView MediaPro 2.x supports cataloging of PDF and Postscript files,
including EPS and Adobe Illustrator 9 (or earlier) files. Ghostscript
is a software library that allows applications to parse and render
these formats.
System versions (do I need Ghostscript?)
- On Mac OS X 10.3 iView MediaPro will import and display all
these formats using Apple resources already in your system.
- On earlier Mac OS X versions iView MediaPro uses Apple's system
resources to handle PDF files but may require Ghostscript
in order to display EPS or AI files.
- On Mac OS 9 iView MediaPro requires Ghostscript to render
these files in full.
However iView MediaPro may be able to display EPS previews
if the original files contain one, whithout installing ghostscript.
What is GhostScript ?
Ghostscript is a software library provided here under the GNU
general public license agreement. As an end user you can download
and install it free of charge.
Under the same GPL license, we are pleased to offer our Carbonized
Ghostscript build to fellow developers with notes explaining what
is specific to this build. For more information on Ghostscript
please visit the Ghostscript
official site.
