Streamlined Annotation Workflow

Controlled vocabulary functionality ensures consistent annotation use. A controlled vocabulary is defined as a list of terms and concepts that provide a standard vocabulary of words to use in annotating or searching through a particular database. This gives users the ability to predefine sets of keywords and limit entries to said lists, ensuring correct spelling and consistent case, for example. Different keywords lists can be set for different purposes.

Faster annotation with parent/child relationships (allowing the user to enter one annotation and automatically apply related annotations), and comma separated (CSV) input of multiple annotations. You can also now create templates of commonly used annotations.

Industry standards compliance: 100% IPTC/XMP Core compliance for metadata, including multi-line and CSV editing on all fields with those properties (i.e. headline and keywords respectively); full Unicode support means that characters from any language can be stored in MediaPro, allowing international users to annotate in English, French, Japanese, Greek… any combination of languages.

Merge Annotations: iView MediaPro 3 now has the option to merge the annotations in a catalog when they were imported from media files - this will preserve metadata if both the catalog and the media files have been edited.

*Learn more about Streamlined Annotation Workflow from the following sections of the MediaPro manual: Media metadata (PDF, 186KB), Annotating your media (PDF, 284KB), Metadata vocabularies (PDF, 114KB) and Vocabulary Editor (PDF, 155KB).

This provides a complete workflow management solution because you can apply commonly used annotations throughout your entire workflow from import right through to export. Integrating the IPTC/XMP Core into the product means the annotations assigned in MediaPro can be read in other applications like Photoshop. Unicode allows the use of any language character set in annotations, which is important for those working in the international market place.
